Tzatziki with Cucumber Sticks

Why it helps

Tzatziki's yogurt base provides protein, calcium, and probiotics that support gut health, while cucumbers add hydration and vitamins. Olive oil contributes heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. Served with extra raw cucumber for dipping, this makes for a lighter, protein-containing snack that fits well into a balanced dietary pattern.

Ingredients

1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cucumber, grated and squeezed to remove excess water
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh dill or mint, chopped
Salt, to taste
1 whole cucumber, cut into sticks, for serving

Methods

In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, and garlic.
Stir in the olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped dill or mint.
Season with salt to taste.
Chill for at least 10 minutes to let the flavours develop, if time allows.
Serve with fresh cucumber sticks for dipping.
